About me
Driven to infuse each creative encounter with joy-inducing laughter, beauty & lifestyle (em)powerhouse Dre Brown seeks to offer her clients and community both something for the eye and for the soul. This free spirit sees her approach to creatively contributing in and around content and curated experiences as a vehicle through which she promotes joy, self-care, motivated creative passion, and wellness-centered transformation. Kicking off her career as a television media pro and self-taught makeup artist, Dre has honed her skills and cultivated creative community on-set for over 15 years — collaborating with TV, film, fashion, beauty, and entertainment brands and creators including ELLE Decór, Food Network, Comedy Central, Refinery29, COSMOPOLITAN, COMPLEX, SEVENTEEN, VH1, HBO, E!, ESSENCE, Black Enterprise, Bustle, Unilever, SEPHORA, Macy's, the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), and celebrity talent including Olympic Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas, recording artists K.Michelle, Jason Derulo, Jidenna, and Tinashe, model/actor Tyson Beckford, actresses Dominique Fishback, Lisa Arrindell, and Tatyana Ali, NBA athlete Kevin Durant, rap legend MC Lyte, actors Marcus Scribner and Omari Hardwick, artist Malene Barnett, and activist Tarana Burke. Also a gifted writer, content creator, experiential host, and facilitator, Dre's footprint has extended via editorial contributions on Beautylish.com, JetMag.com, and MadameNoire.com, motivational insights and illustrations contributed to The Ultimate Empowerment Activity Workbook for Her, and via her work as a speaker, ambassador, curriculum consultant, and youth educator since 2014 for global body care brand DoveⓇ and the DoveⓇ Self-Esteem Project (DSEP). Through this role, Dre has curated dozens of live workshops, keynote speeches, media events, and virtual trainings designed to empower people of all ages. Dre most recently partnered in composing and accrediting the DoveⓇ“My Hair, My CROWN” workshop curriculum to support natural hair confidence in (and allyship in support of) Black and Brown youth. Additionally, Dre has amplified her voice with DoveⓇ, its sister brands, partners, and beyond as an inspirational thought-leader in the beauty & lifestyle industries — sharing her unique insights and tools via an editorial highlight in Black Enterprise Magazine, guest features on several popular empowerment podcasts including Switch, Pivot, or Quit and Let's Change Beauty with Jess Weiner, and through host/facilitator roles across the U.S. in partnership with The United Nations, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Girl Scouts, Summit21, Essence Festival, She Leads, Mom 2.0, The MastHERclass, The Female Quotient, The Rooted Collaborative, and Hello Seven. Dre has shared stages in motivating audiences and curating transformative issue-based dialogues with other influencial leaders including award-winning television creator Shonda Rhimes, recording artists Kelly Rowland, SZA, and Lizzo, Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell, actor and vegan food phenom Tabitha Brown, Paralympic Medalist Amy Purdy, Author and Millionaire Business Investor Rachel Rodgers, and many others. When she's not working on-set to produce content she believes represents women and marginalized communities authentically and inclusively, or empowerment speaking, Dre pays forward her appreciation for the arts and passion for youth engagement as a member of the Board of Directors for The Dorill Initiative -- a non-profit organization founded to uplift overlooked and underestimated young people in New York City via artistic & creative expression, academic enrichment, and civic & community engagement.
